Holidays with Oil Painting Expressions

I am excited to announce that I am participating in an online e-course along with ten other very talented and accomplished artists! The first lesson will be presented on July 27, and thereafter every two weeks until December 7, 2015. The roster includes Trudy Beard-Lazaroe, Robyn Brooks, Jeanne Downing, Mary Jo Leisure, Rika Muramatsu, Pat Parker, Nilda Rodriguez, Cheri Rol, Shirley Nan Ruchong, and Patsy Schultis.

Each artwork reprsents a holiday. Of course there are Chrismas projects, but the First Day of Spring and Labor Day are also represented, along with a Garden Pary. My contribution is an Easter piece, Among the Pansies, scheduled to be presented on November 2, 2015.

Mary McLean Mary grew up on Cape Cod, a beautiful nautical area in Massachusetts. She was always influenced by the wonder around her and the inspiration of local art communities. Her Mom always had a dream for her and Mary wanted to make that happen. Fortunately, she was guided by talented teachers who encouraged her ambitions.

Mary received her BFA and M.Ed. in Art Education. In 1991, she received the Certified Decorative Artist designation from the Society of Decorative Painters. She has studied with many nationally known artists including Ann Kingslan, Johnnie Liledahl, and Elizabeth Robbins. She was fortunate to have the opportunity to write six books with Cagle publications and one with Northlight Publications.

Mary continues to teach seminars and classes in her home studio, continually supported by her wonderful husband, David. The beauty of her heritage and family continue to inspire the next project.
